Principles of personal data processing in connection with the use of websites

I. Basic Provisions

These Personal Data Processing Policies (hereinafter referred to as the "Policies") apply to the processing of personal data carried out by the Controller (as defined in the following paragraph of the Policies) during your use of the website www.klimatickainiciativa.sk (hereinafter referred to as the "Website").

 

The Controller of personal data according to Article 4(7) of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter referred to as the "GDPR") is the Civic Association Slovak Climate Initiative, IČO: 56058071, with its registered office at Račianska 1579/88B, 83102 Bratislava – Nové Mesto (hereinafter referred to as the "Controller").

Personal data refers to all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, identification number, location data, online identifier, or to one or more specific elements of the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity of that natural person.

The Controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer.

 

II. Sources and Categories of Processed Personal Data

The Controller processes personal data that you have provided through the contact form.

The Controller processes the following categories of personal data:

  • Identification Data: Your first and last name;

  • Contact Data: Your email address and phone number;

  • Network Identifiers (cookies), IP address;

  • Other specific data you provide voluntarily – whether as part of your complaint, petition, objection, suggestion, question, or, for example, requests for information.

III. Legal Grounds and Purposes of Processing Personal Data

  1. Legal Grounds for Processing Your Personal Data:

    • Your consent to the processing according to Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR for the purposes specified in the following paragraph of these Policies;

    • Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests of the Controller or a third party according to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

  2. Personal Data are Processed for the Following Purposes:

    • Sending Commercial Notices, Offering Services and Products, and Targeting Advertising:
      The Controller may send you commercial notices or newsletters, particularly in the field of law and business, and offer services via email; data obtained during visits to the Website may also be used for targeting advertising.

    • Handling Requests Sent via Electronic Forms:
      Especially in the case of your interest in employment with the Controller or other cooperation with the Controller, or in the case of registration for professional seminars and educational or social events via the Website.

    • Protection of the Controller’s Legitimate Interests:
      (e.g., protecting the network against harmful activities or safeguarding the Website from misuse).

  3. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling:

    The Controller may engage in automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR. By providing your data, you give your explicit consent to such processing.

 

IV. Retention Period for Personal Data

  1. The Controller retains personal data according to the purpose of their processing:

    • Sending Commercial Notices, Offering Services and Products, and Targeting Advertising:
      During the duration of consent for personal data processing, or until the withdrawal of consent for processing, or in accordance with specific legal provisions;

    • Handling Requests Sent via Electronic Forms:
      During the duration of consent for personal data processing, or until the withdrawal of consent for processing, or for the period necessary to handle the requests;

    • Protection of the Controller’s or Third Parties’ Legitimate Interests:
      A maximum of 3 years from the start of data processing, unless specific legal provisions provide otherwise (e.g., regulating the practice of law) or if there is a justified need to retain data for a longer period in connection with a specific case.

  2. After the retention period has expired, the Controller will delete the personal data.

 

V. Recipients of Personal Data

  1. Recipients of Personal Data are individuals or entities:

    • Providing services for operating the Website and other services related to the operation of the Website;

    • Providing marketing services.

  2. Cookies:

VI. Your Rights

  1. Under the conditions set out in the GDPR, you have the following rights:

    • The right to access your personal data according to Article 15 of the GDPR;

    • The right to rectification of personal data according to Article 16 of the GDPR, or restriction of processing according to Article 18 of the GDPR;

    • The right to erasure of personal data according to Article 17 of the GDPR ("right to be forgotten");

    • The right to object to processing according to Article 21 of the GDPR;

    • The right to data portability according to Article 20 of the GDPR; and

    • The right to withdraw consent to the processing of personal data in writing or electronically to the address or email of the Controller provided in Article I. of these Policies.

  2. Complaints:

    You may lodge complaints regarding the processing of your personal data carried out by us with the Office for Personal Data Protection, located at Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, Slovak Republic, website: https://dataprotection.gov.sk/.

 

VII. Conditions for Securing Personal Data

The Controller declares that it has taken all appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure personal data.

The Controller has implemented technical measures to secure data repositories and personal data repositories in document form, particularly secure/encrypted access to the Website, regular system updates, and regular system backups.

The Controller declares that only authorized persons have access to personal data.

 

VIII. Final Provisions

By submitting the completed contact form, you confirm that you are familiar with these Policies and accept them in their entirety.

The Controller is entitled to change these Policies. The new version of the Policies will be published on the Website and simultaneously sent to your email address, which you have provided to the Controller.

These Policies come into effect on September 1, 2024.
